The Scottsboro Boy’s Museum is undergoing a major redesign and currently working to secure funding for a $150,000 remodel project. We’ve contracted with Design Display, out of Birmingham, to create a new experience for our visitors and to bring the museum up to standards that guests have come to expect when they tour historical museums.

As you will see, the following images provide a sense of our direction, and believe the design phase is coming together nicely.

Scottsboro boys Museum Renovation

Part of the renovations include adding new flooring in the annex area, a new men’s bathroom, and a ramp for persons with disabilities.  Where you see mannequins of Haywood and Victoria in the choir area, those will be lifelike when finished. We plan to run a five-minute loop from the film, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” with commentary about how the case influenced Nelle Harper Lee. And of course, The Scottsboro Boys Musical will be prominently displayed.

Scottsboro Boys Museum Renovation

We are currently half way to our goal before starting phase-I of the project. With a total of three phases, we are hoping to break ground by February of 2021.  Your tax-deductible financial contributions will help us stay on deadline & promote and foster a positive vision through historical, civic and educational endeavors.

The Scottsboro Boys Museum and Cultural Center is a subsidiary of the Scottsboro Multicultural Foundation. The Museum is registered as a non-profit, tax-exempt organization under Section 501c3 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.
